# Pinrope

> Pinrope is a visual clipboard manager for Mac. Text, links and screenshots you copy hang as cards on a rope at the top of the screen, so you can find and paste them again. Everything stays on the Mac, encrypted.

Pinrope solves a common problem: you copy something, copy the next thing, and the first one is gone. macOS keeps only the last copy. Pinrope keeps your clipboard history and shows it visually.

## Key facts

- What it is: a clipboard manager and clipboard history app for macOS.
- Platform: Macs with Apple silicon, macOS 14 Sonoma or later. No Windows version. An iPhone companion is planned for version 1.1.
- How it opens: press Control-Option-T (⌃⌥T) or move the pointer to the top edge of the screen; the rope comes down.
- Organisation: separate ropes for text, links and images; a Library for older items, with pins, folders and tags.
- Search: type to search everything, including the words inside screenshots (on-device OCR).
- Privacy: no account, no sync, no server that sees the clipboard, no analytics. The library is encrypted with SQLCipher; the key lives in the login Keychain. The only network use is optional link previews.
- Secrets: values that look like passwords, API keys or tokens go into a vault that opens with Touch ID. Content password managers mark as concealed is never saved.
- AI agents: Claude Code and Codex can ask Pinrope for something the user copied through the `pinrope` command. The user approves each agent once, sees a notice every time an agent receives something, and can require Touch ID for every request.
- Themes: classic clothespin, koala, gorilla, excavator and a Christmas season.
- App languages: English, Turkish, Arabic, Russian and Spanish.
- Price: free for two weeks, then Pinrope Pro is a one-time $9.99 purchase with no subscription. Without Pro, a smaller free version keeps the 20 newest cards on one rope.
- Availability: Mac beta on TestFlight now (https://testflight.apple.com/join/3TcBSkwt); Mac App Store release is being prepared.
